The problem with cock-block

I was having a discussion recently regarding cock-blocking. I had always defined a cock-block as an interference with a score.
You are making time and a friend or competitor starts talking to the object of your interest resulting in you not getting a number or date. Most often the person is being so irritating or creepy sending the girls running away.
I don't think a cock-blocking includes a guy swooping in and taking the interest for them self getting the number or getting laid.
That my friends would be a boink-yoink.
